REPBLADE Project – NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE INSPECTION AND REPAIR OF WIND BLADES

This project has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund ERDF with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research.

Objectives and results:

The objectives of the project were to develop a robot for internal inspection of wind turbine blades with modular payloads, for the early detection of structural defects, a new type of robot for repairing structural damage inside the blades in which they have been adapted and integrated tools and equipment that combine innovative processes for repairing structures in composite materials. The system has the potential to be deployed around the world to carry out inspections and repairs on blades, in order to extend their lifetime.
